GSOP Annual General Meeting
Dear GSOP Member,
I hope you will be able to join me on Sunday November 12th from 2:00 to 4:30 at the GSOP Annual General Meeting. As you know, the Annual Meeting is a time for us to reflect on the success and challenges of the past year, celebrate together and build toward our shared future.
As my term as President draws to a close, I want you to know how proud I am of all we have done together. We are in the process of creating a New Hampshire Immigrant Solidarity Network, with more than 60 New Hampshire congregations participating, to push back against the family separations brought about by our nation’s broken immigration system. Our youth wing, Young Organizers United is winning real change in Manchester’ schools. We are convening the New Hampshire Alliance for a Moral Economy, a statewide effort to raise the minimum wage and improve working conditions.
I am aware that we are living through some very difficult times. This is all the more reason for us to take time to evaluate our progress, revamp our structures to be more powerful and strengthen our mutual work. Enclosed in this envelope is a proposed change to the GSOP by-laws which we believe will make us more nimble and effective. Please read the enclosed carefully and come prepared to vote on these changes as well as to elect new officers for the position of President and First Vice President.
We hope that you will join us on November 12th for a time of reflection and evaluation, a time to plan and a time to celebrate our many victories!
I look forward to seeing you on November 12th!
Carol Backus, GSOP Board President
